1. About Tora and our role
Tora is a proxy buying and package-forwarding service. You ask us to purchase items from Japanese stores and auctions, we buy them on your behalf as your buying agent, receive them at our warehouse in Japan, and forward them to you internationally.
We are not the seller or manufacturer of the items. Items are sold by third parties and are subject to those sellers' descriptions, conditions, availability, and terms. We do not guarantee the quality, authenticity, or availability of any item, and any quote is an estimate that may change due to price changes, availability, or currency fluctuation.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the service. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your account credentials secure, and accept responsibility for activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
3. Quotes, orders, and our authority to purchase
When you submit a link or request, we provide an estimated quote covering the item price, our service fee, and domestic shipping to our warehouse. When you confirm an order and we charge your wallet, you authorize us to purchase the item on your behalf on your instructions. Because we buy from third parties in real time, confirmed orders generally cannot be cancelled or changed, and auction bids are binding once placed.
We may decline or cancel any order at our discretion, including where an item is unavailable, mispriced, prohibited, or where we suspect fraud or a legal risk. If we cannot obtain a paid item, we refund the amount charged to your wallet.
4. Wallet and payments
The service uses a prepaid wallet. You add funds (a top-up) and we charge your wallet for purchases, fees, and shipping.
- Balances are held and charged in Japanese yen (JPY). Any amounts shown in other currencies are estimates for your convenience and may differ from the amount actually charged.
- Order charges include the item price plus our service fee. Domestic and international shipping and optional services are charged separately. The exact fees that apply to your order are shown at checkout and on our Fees page.
- Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor. We store only limited, non-sensitive card identifiers, as described in our Privacy Policy.
- Wallet funds are for use within the service, do not earn interest, and are not a deposit or bank account. Refunds are returned to your wallet unless we determine otherwise.

5. Prohibited and restricted items
You may not use the service to buy, store, or ship items that are illegal to buy, export from Japan, import into the destination country, or transport by our carriers. Prohibited and restricted items include, without limitation: counterfeit or infringing goods; weapons, ammunition, and explosives; illegal drugs and regulated substances; hazardous, flammable, or dangerous materials; living animals or plants; perishable food; currency and certain financial instruments; adult or age-restricted goods where prohibited; and any item restricted by the seller, carrier, or applicable law. You are responsible for ensuring your items comply with all applicable laws.
6. Warehouse, storage, and consolidation
We store items received at our warehouse free of charge for 90 days from arrival, so you can consolidate multiple purchases into a single shipment. After the free period, storage fees may apply, and items left unclaimed for an extended period may be treated as abandoned and disposed of. You can request optional services such as consolidation, photographs, repacking, discreet packaging, expedited handling, and split shipments, each of which may carry a fee.
7. Shipping, customs, duties, and taxes
You choose a carrier and shipping method at dispatch; cost is estimated by weight and destination and confirmed before dispatch. Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed. You are the importer of record and are solely responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, and fees charged by your country, and for ensuring the items may lawfully be imported. We declare shipments accurately and will not under-declare value or mis-describe contents. Risk of loss passes according to the carrier's terms; where available, shipping insurance may be offered.
8. Item condition and inspection
Many items, especially second-hand and auction goods, are sold as-is. We can perform a basic check and, on request, provide photos, but we do not test, authenticate, or guarantee items. Claims about an item's condition are the seller's responsibility.
9. Cancellations, returns, and refunds
Because we purchase on your behalf from third parties, orders are generally non-refundable and non-returnable once placed, except where we are unable to obtain the item or where required by law. Seller returns, where possible, are subject to the seller's policies and may incur fees.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service, including by violating laws, infringing others' rights, attempting to access systems without authorization, interfering with the service, or using it to launder funds or evade sanctions.
11. Intellectual property
The service, including its content, design, and trademarks, is owned by Tora or its licensors and is protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service for its intended purpose. Product images and listings belong to their respective owners.
12. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that items, quotes, or estimates will meet your expectations.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tora will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service or an order will not exceed the amounts you paid to Tora for the order giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Tora harmless from claims, losses, and expenses arising from your use of the service, your items, or your breach of these terms or of any law.
15. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, create risk or legal exposure, or for other legitimate reasons. You may close your account at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the revised version with a new “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
17. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the governing-law jurisdiction stated in your service agreement (placeholder), without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of that jurisdiction will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, except where mandatory consumer-protection law gives you other rights.
